- Ensure robust frost protection for the fire sprinkler system in a new warehouse
construction.

- TanRo, on behalf of Prologis, required a solution that would safeguard operations
and assets in cold weather while maintaining a high standard of environmental
responsibility.
Our Approach / Solution
• Site Assessment & Analysis:
- Our engineers conducted a detailed analysis of the buildings size, insulation, and
heating requirements to determine the best frost protection strategy. The key
challenge was ensuring efficient heat generation in freezing conditions using an all-
electric solution.
• Recommended System:
- We implemented an air-to-water heat pump system combined with a buffer tank to
meet the high heating demand. Warm water is pumped from the external heat pump
to an indoor air handling unit.
- This solution addresses the inherent challenge of heat pumps operating at low
temperatures by providing thermal storage and continuous heat delivery.
