Misting

Whatever your views are on the changes in weather and the cause, it is indisputable that the UK has experienced some extremely high summer temperature peaks in recent years. We always exceed the CIBSIE guidelines when designing our systems, but planning for the worst-case eventuality could make a system prohibitively expensive and its total capacity rarely used.  

 

A cost-effective option is to incorporate water misting into the solution. In a cooling application in very high-temperature external conditions, the challenge is getting rid of the heat from the chiller. Incorporating a water mist in the coil cooling airflow dramatically increases the efficacy of heat extraction at a minimal cost.
